Holy words... "the observer is far more important than the sextant". Certainly a old car takes you to the destination as the new; change the comfort with which get the goal. I think that when we talk of precision instruments, we must also look when were constructed and the limits of technology. Otherwise need a thorough review. I also have a BRIS sextant , and i think this brilliant tool also for the results. But my heart belongs to traditional sextants ... not too old.
