Public Domain Books online

There seems to be a dearth of books on navigation available as free ebooks.
We have, among us, a number of out-of-print and out-of-copyright books that
are now in the public domain, don't we?
Project Gutenberg (http://www.gutenberg.org) does proofreading, but does not
do pictures. WikiSource (http://en.wikisource.org) does not do
proofreading, but does do pictures. Bowditch 2002 is already up at
wikisource
Putting up, for example, the 1966 edition of BowDitch (the only book on
navigation I own that I am certain is public domain) could be quite an
effort, and could take some time, but would certainly be a good deed.
