The provisioning of a boat.... I sure there are some good books on how to do it for long voyages. My question is for long voyages do they do it by weight. For the trips I have taken it was usually do it by meal, but these are only for 2 to 3 weeks trips. Funny story on my last trip. Deciding on fruit for the trip. I wanted two fruits a day. An apple, an orange or a banana would be fine. Well one of the guy on the trip loved bananas, he could eat to two a day, I said one a day was enough for me. Now the count of bananas were 70 for four us for about a 12 to 14 day sail. We got the bananas and they were all green. We were sailing from Tortola, BI to Cape Carnival, FL and it was warm..... Yep in just three day we had 70 ripe bananas to eat between 4 of us, and on the 4 day they were even ripper. :) Still............... Learning the Hard Way!!
