    Yes, I agree it makes less difference than the oblateness of the Earth,
    but it is nice to know how the man pronounced his own name.  My name in
    its original German, Schr?der, is pronounced "shrer-dah".  In the part
    of the US where I was born, it was "shray-der", but when I moved south,
    it became "shro-der" via the vox populi.  So right here in America my
    brother and I have different surnames.

    An interesting tidbit I shall also use in class.  My attempt to
    pronounce that will give needed comic relief.
    Something I've wondered about: with the Winter Olympics coming up and
    "Torino" raised to international prominence, are our Anglican cousins
    sticking with "Turin" or going along with the "correct" Torino?  But
    that's off-topic.
