Karl Hahn has made available on the internet an interesting package: See: http://www.netsrq.com/~hahn/#astronomy As a beginner with celestial navigation, I found in very useful. It includes the almanac for the year, Postscript plotting sheets, programs for generating HO211 tables, and worksheets. I found a problem with the Postscript plotting sheets and Karl suggested I post it here. Postscript files must begin with a first line that begins %!PS These files are missing it. Just add the line with the text-editor of your choice. (Postscript files are just test files, and the %!PS tells your printer to interpret the file as postscript). I found that Ghostview postscript viewer will display the files, but when sent to the printer, I get pages of postscript instructions. Karl said that he will fix it and is preparing the 1997 package.
