Fearing the worst, during the rest many northern hemisphere cultures have developed rituals around December 20 to cheer it up and refresh it, hoping the adulation will cause it to travel north towards its admirers with some increasing vigor. It works every year! After all, even that glowing orb cannot resist a fan boy like Louis XIV (Roi Soleil).
