    Precomputed LOP for sailboat landfall
    From: Nick N
    Date: 2009 Feb 22, 12:02 -0800

Would somebody please help me with better understanding of method of
landfall by using precomputed LOP. I was reading about using this
method for sailboat landfall in John Karls book "Celestial Navigation
in the GPS age" (published by Paradise Cay, 2007). I would like to
discuss the Figure 10.5b (page 140) where I think the mistake was
made. Specifically, it is not clear how Hc of 75 and 81 degrees for
LOP 2300 UT resulted in 6 nm intersept. Can somebody clarify it?
    Thanks
