Precomputed LOP for sailboat landfall

Would somebody please help me with better understanding of method of landfall by using precomputed LOP. I was reading about using this method for sailboat landfall in John Karl�s book "Celestial Navigation in the GPS age" (published by Paradise Cay, 2007). I would like to discuss the Figure 10.5b (page 140) where I think the mistake was made. Specifically, it is not clear how Hc of 75 and 81 degrees for LOP 2300 UT resulted in 6 nm intersept. Can somebody clarify it?
