Don't know how this particular set of modern-day re-enactors intend navigating but one thing is sure: their ancestors didn't have GPS to rely on.
There have been other voyages made in the, hum, footsteps of Polynesian ocean crossings using traditional Polynesian navigational techniques, between Hawaii and parts of French Polynesia, for example.
