I had the exact same experinece. Inspired biology and chemistry teachers so ended up doing bichemistry and medicine. No regrets there. But dullard maths teacher, so barely numerate, just enough to do by rote for the other sciences like physics, but really only started ot understand trig recently via Navlist! Better late than never!
I was going to say something profound about Altzheimer's, but I have forgotten what it was!
