Hi Jeremy, great stuff you have here and welcome aboard. I use the 5 inch version of Celestaire's " Nautical Grid Protractor" made by Linex. It is quite nifty and extremely utilitarian. Go to www.Celestaire.com for their on line catalogue. It is essentially a square protractor that has a grid inscribed inside. I also use nav triangles, a 12 in transparent ruler, a great pair of dividers/compases also by Linex from Celestaire. The great feature of the compass is it's dual action of turning the wheel and pressure ala traditional dividers. Even though I was raised with it, my dad being a pilot, the good old
    "Weems plotter" is pretty versatile.
