This file in particular could have been radically reduced in size by saving it as a GIF file or similar format --literally more than 100X smaller than the original BMP file. When in doubt, just ask. Bear in mind that many of the non-US list members are on dial-up lines. Also, some list members are on accounts with file size limits. Huge attachments then become bounced messages which will get us tagged as a "bad" group. I promise that there WILL BE a facility for "attaching" large files directly from the archive within the month. This will allow files to be stored there with small thumbnails or a text link in the actual, distributed message thereby combining the best of both worlds (I hope). We can't all be experts on graphics file formats and all that crap, so it's my intention to make this service completely trivial to use with automatic type conversions (for display purposes). I have modified the web archive version of this message to reference a much smaller "GIF" format copy instead of the original BMP format file.
