    Plastic Sextants, again?
    From: Scott O´Connor

Recently I acquired a Davis Mark 3. The sextant looks great with no apparent damage, however, the index arm seems sticky. Not ever having handled one, I am not sure how sticky or stiff the movement should be. Do they ever need lubrication, and if so, how? It is hard to get a nice smooth movement when taking a reading.

Also, I am looking at 2 Ebbco sextants, one has round horizon mirrors and one has square horizon mirrors. I am interested in the difference. Is it model,or year, or other?

Thanks for the help. I really appreciate and enjoy the Navlist. Scott
