When Doug Royer wrote- "You guys have a talent for trivialising the momentous and complicateing the obvious." I thought it was fair comment, that could be applied, just as well, to many of our discussions on this list. So I considered that the ensuing slap-down: "This sort of comment doesn't do anyone any good, Doug." was quite uncalled-for. As for the "joke" about his mother, that followed, it seemed to me to be a childish and disgraceful comment. How satisfying, then, that Doug was able to make such a devastating riposte about his mother, who must indeed have been a remarkable lady.
