    The Ping explained
    From: Dave Weilacher
    Date: 2001 Jan 26, 5:59 AM

I subscribe to 4 really cool email lists. (The people make them cool).
Late yesterday afternoon, I realized that I hadn't seen messages from any
    but the Cal list.

So I pinged. The list servers pinged back by sending my ping to the lists.

Of the extra pings I got back, I liked "only one ping, Vasili" best.
"Locked on" wasn't bad either. "Ping" seems a good and proper response.

...but "Pong". I can only conclude that we have way too many psychology
patient wanna-be's on this list. I'm no way qualified to render this
diagnosis,(that has never stopped me) but it appears to me that you
"Pongers" are really healthy, normal, sometimes adults, that are now cured.

    Dave W.
