A story has broken in the past few days about an airline pilot (first officer) who awaken from a nap to see the headlight of a cargo plane on a collision course. He put the plane into a nose dive, injuring passengers and flight crew.

I do not know if cel nav is a requirement for a commercial pilots license these days, but I would think a fundamental knowledge of the position of heavenly bodies might come in handy for the pilot of any craft.
