I guess thst would totally DEPEND on what manual you're reading. My Tamaya manual states where to place the eye and all components for this check.And it states you are NOT to move either your eye or the sextant while doing this. Tomorrow I'll post exactly the wording from my manual reguarding this procedure. You don't have more than 56 mm mirrors on any Soviet sextant.They come standard with 52 mm mirrors I believe.That is the standard size on Freiburger sextants.
