Is that so? I got two of the mounts. One in a very good condition (ex German
Air Force, the version that has the intrinsic dc converter from 28 to 3
Volts) , the other is fairly good (28 Volts "straight" version). The former
may eventually "return to service" in a Lockheed L-1649A Super Star which is
currently under restoration in Auburn/Maine for Lufthansa. I'll give them a
matching Kollsman Periscopic sextant as well (pendulum mirror version). At
least that is the plan. The sextant will of course not be used a a navigation
aid any more. It is only for the historical aspect.
