I wonder if you had any luck in tracing the ancestry of your Plath sextant and if so would you kindly explain how one can obtains the appropriate information sources etc. I have a similar model complete No. 1598 with inscribed eagle/swastika and also has the original test certificate simarly inscribed and dated 9/12/41. As an ex Master Mariner (long retired) I'd love to know its history etc Many thanks in anticipation.
