Maybe Frank knows the answer to this question. In the 1939 Nautical Almanac the GHAs of the stars were given and then interpolated for time. There was no list of SHA so the increments for time were applied directly to the tabulated GHAs of the stars. In the 1941 Air Almanac they have SHAs and a tabulation of GHA Aries, the method used in the current Nautical Almanac. I am curious when the old system was abandoned and the SHA / GHA Aries system was instituted in the Nautical Almanac.
