Laptops today are pretty rugged. Unless you need to use yours on deck, I would think any one would do. I saw a Marine Laptop case offerred somewhere (West Marine, Boat US or Defender) on the web. Waterproof seal when your aren't using your PC. Of course they do make very large zip-lock bags..... Dell and IBM seem to be dividing the corporate market, the 2 brands the company I work for deploys. We were also giving people Compaqs until just recently, but I guess I we get better pricing from IBM and Dell. The Dell Latitude is tiny, but the CD rom, and many other things are external, so you still end up toting alot of stuff. The screen is also small, to my mind. I would choose something with a larger, more readable screen. Of course at home, you can use a monitor. Debra
