Re: Open letter for NavList crew on the "preservation" of celestial navigation

Byron: I taught Celestial Navigation in Navy Schools (3 years) and at sea over 20? Years.
Byron: I taught at OCS Newport Navigation and Celestial over 3 years. After being at sea navigating
    for over 6 years.
At OCS, all of the students were college graduates, One of my start off talks for celestial navigation was for the college type high math students to raise their hands, I would say that they would have some problems with celestial navigation, and they did as a group, because their add and subtract needed was not as good as the average other student, most math students were use to complicated problems and made mistakes in add and subtract.
The need to keep teaching Celestial Navigation simple is most important. I have worked on a possible
Celestial Navigation out line for possible Coast Guard at CT. I did keep it simple, but complete.
One star sight, one Sun running fix (Sun line LAN) One Fix using Moon and Jupiter using Moon light Horizon’. Should I sent it to Navaid for possible mistakes and understanding?
We must make it simlple and interesting to the newcomer.
