1. Does there exist a free online sight reduction calculator?
Of the type Frank has for the Lunars.
You input GMT, Long and Lat, and it gives you the Sun altitude.
I remember such things existed in the past...
2. Question to Frank: I tried to use your calculator for this purpose.
It indeed computes the altitude. I input some random Lunar distance,
I only need Sun's or Venus's altitude.
Is this for the center of the Sun/Venus with no refraction correction?
Or what? And is the accuracy of this altitude 0'1 for the present time (2012)?
I tried to reduce one or two altitudes manually, the result disagrees
with Frank's calculator altitude by few minutes.
Alex.
