The site offsoundings.info was owned and maintained by list member Robert 
Gainer who passed away last year. He provided space for list members to 
upload files several years ago. I am copying the files available there to 
ensure that they are archived. The descriptions below are taken directly from 
that web page. I've unzipped any zip files which contained only one or two 
files, and I have omitted links to other web sites. Be aware that some of 
these files are very old (e.g. from 1990).

4mulapt1.txt, 4mulapt2.txt -- A pair of files with valuable Celestial 
Navigation and Dead Reckoning formulas and information. 

celnav.pdf -- A PDF file of the Coast Guard Celestial Navigation training 
guide. An 171 page manual, and a 10.6 Mb file.

dma5090.jpg -- A JPG file of the now out of print DMA Maneuvering Board 
Plotting sheet. Also see Pub. 217 below.

geomag.zip -- is a magnetic variation determination program. No instructions 
are available. The file was furnished by USGS.

nautical.zip -- An Astro Navigation program complete with built in almanac 
from 1950-2050. Includes a Time/Distance table combined with Mid-Latitude

posplot.exe -- A program that generates and prints plotting sheets for your 
selected latitude (8.5 x 11 inches).

sscharts.zip -- Plotting Sheet size chartletts used in the first 60 Legs of the Silicon Sea cruise.

ssea.zip -- The current archive of the Silicon Sea navigation cruise problems.

tvmdc.exe, tmvdc.txt -- A freeware program to correct true course for Variation and Deviation.

ups.pdf -- A free PDF Universal plotting sheet in 8.5" x 11" format courtesy of Thomas Reed Publishing. 

mb11x17.pdf -- A free PDF maneuvering board form without the nomographs in 11" 
x 17" format, courtesy of Mike Wescott.

85x115090.jpg -- A free file of the maneuvering board DMA 5090 work form
