Okay, I regcognize I am a little late to the table.
Back in August of 2005, there was a discussion about Oblique Ascension and what was the meaning of this phrase. It was such an odd term, it stuck with me.
While browsing, Atkinson, "Epitome of the Art of Naviation", I came across that very phrase. There is a definition of "Ascension", "Descension", "Right Ascension", "Oblique Ascension" and "Ascensional Difference" given on page 168. While I have not yet divined the true meaning of the provided terminology, I thought to share the definitions with the NavList.

Enjoy!
Best Regards
Brad
