Randall,
Are you using Pub 229 for sight reductions ? If 35N 119W is the assumed position of convenience then you must be using a calculator or online sight reduction. If you are using Pub 229 then each body will have a different assumed Longitude along Latitude 35N to get an even LHA ( not 119*W)
Post the star/planet info then we can compare the two types of sight reduction plots -Pub 229 vs. Calculator. For now it might be better to be working with three stars/planets differing by 120* in azimuth.

[NavList] Not exactly "pinwheeling"
From: Randall.F.Morrow---org

It's not "pin-wheeling" but it is getting better.
This is the plot of this mornings round of sights: (10/21/2011)
My AP was W119* , N35*.
My actual position, from a web site based on a street address, is W119*5', N35*19'. (I don't own a GPS)
The sextant is a Davis Mark 15, using a levelled mirror a.h and a digital level only accurate to 1/10 degree.
The intercept distances ranged from 0.3 miles to 32 miles.
My moon sights always seem to be the worst of the bunch.
Thanks to all for your help and patience.
