Frank:
I think I stand corrected. The method is affected by variations in
observer movement, and that is the same as a running fix.
And thanks for your complimenting summary. It's satisfying to know that
what I intended has been received. No, my marketing plan is not based on
NavList. I offered the condensation here as a courtesy, and I was hoping for the
criticism I'm getting. That's the way to learn.
During the creation of the book, I confided in only one person, since it
was so very simple that I didn't want to reveal it until it was copyrighted.
That one person was Elliot (Joe) Cutting, whose primary focus is space
navigation, but he is an avid sailor and marine navigator as well. He also had
some sophisticated tools to check various aspects, and was continually
encouraging. In my acknowledgements, I also list Paul Janiczek, who pressed me
to make more use of graphics than I originally intended. As I note there,
"Without their prodding, this method might never have materialized."
Thanks for your help.
Jim Wilson
