I have used pocket stars....I find it excellent for sight reduction and the starfinder/skymap feature is nice also. Price is great (low) and the ability to download and play with a demo version is a tremendous selling feature. Note there are multiple versions of the almanac available to download depending on digital memory available. You need to have a Windows CE pocket PC for it to work but if that cost is already sunk (you own one) this is the way to go Jim Dullea Tech Marine Business, Inc 202 675-7782 dullea@tmbhq.com -----Original Message----- From: Navigation Mailing List [mailto:NAVIGATION-L@LISTSERV.WEBKAHUNA.COM] On Behalf Of Marc Bernstein Sent: Friday, December 13, 2002 1:14 PM To: NAVIGATION-L@LISTSERV.WEBKAHUNA.COM Subject: Non-traditional Sight Reduction More and more navigators are still using their sextants but using software for sight reduction. I am interested in user experience with the following software: - AstroNavPC (NavPac) - Navigator - StarPilot - Celestnav PDA - Pocket Stars - The Cap'n - Nobeltec Admiral and Navigation Suite I would appreciate comments on user friendliness and features (included or missing) Thanks
