I just saw the new Russell Crowe movie "Master & Commander: The Far Side of the World" and alas, it has received the full Hollywood treatment. Patrick O'Brian's books are 5% battles and 95% everything else. This movie has reversed these and seems like 95% battles and gore to 5% music and everything else. I do not plan to see the movie again or to buy it. The books are infinitely better. Dan
