Out of interest I worked through Francis' sights using Stark's tables and they worked out very well. Calculations attached for anyone interested. They gave me a good refresher on the Stark tables. Next time I'll use the Miller version of the Stark form (posted a while back) as it clarifies the final Gaussian step. I can only do real Lunars with a proper horizon when both Azimuths are between 020 and 200 which is restrictive although I have done some wher eI've worked from just the Lunar distance - results not great so far.
