Actually, it is available through Dover books.   It's been republished under the title "Finding your Way Without Map and Compass,"  but is the same book.    I'm using this as a text in my seminar.   There is a word of warning - some of the things in Gatty's book has been shown to be incorrectly.

    Welcome John.

I haven't read it or even managed to get hold of it, but I'd love to get my hands on "Nature is your guide: how to find your way on land & sea", written by the famous air navigator Harold Gatty. Many years before he penned this work, he acted as Wiley Post's navigator on their record-breaking round the world flight in 1931. I obviously cannot endorse it personally, but perhaps this book could supplement your reading on primitive navigation.
