Brad, I didn't bother to check my set when you posted this (I just accepted your measurements) but I just did it now. I have the complete set of HO 229 published by the government. My set takes up 7.5 inches (190.5 mm) of shelf space, one inch more than your set and weighs 21.2 pounds (9.6 kg)which is more than 7 pounds greater than your set. The flat Bygrave weighs .156 lbs (2.5 oz, 70 gm), 21.043 pounds (9.53 kg)less than my set of HO 229 and takes up only 0.033 inches (.97mm) on my shelf which is 7.467 inches (189.53 mm) less shelf space. As a percentage, the flat Bygrave is only 0.73% of the weight and 0.44% of the shelf space.

Also, weighing in favor of the flat Bygrave, loading your boat with an additional unnecessary 21 pounds of books will make the boat ride lower in the water resulting in it sailing slower and burning more fuel under power. The savings in fuel alone will pay for the cost of a flat Bygrave on your first voyage.
