I should add that I use 3M "Scotch Self-Sealing Laminating Pouches, item number, LS854-10G" for sealing the cotangent scale. These are quite thick and rigid. I also use these for sealing the cotangent scale onto the base tube on my cylindrical models and for forming the cosine tube and the cursor tube also.
