A new book on the history of GPS and the implications of our increasing reliance on it has just been published: 'Pinpoint - How GPS is Changing Our World' by Greg Milner, published by Norton in the US and Granta in the UK.
I haven't yet read it thoroughly. It certainly isn't wholly reliable on the subject of CN, but it looks interesting and informative and addresses a lot of the issues recently discussed in this forum.
All the best
