Frank, You now have most certainly written: > Trevor Kenchington wrote (regarding calculations for the Bay of Fundy): > " It was Frank who claimed that it was quite precise." > > Ahem. > When did I say that?! I seem to "say" many things on this list that I've > never said. For my part, I do not take to being called a liar, which is how I interpret the above. Perhaps we should re-examine how we got to this point. On December 23, in response to a posting by Rodney Myrvaagnes, I wrote: > On the effects of a tidal barrage at the head of Fundy: I'm not sure > that anyone really knows what it would do to amplitudes elsewhere. The following day, you responded with: > Then you would be pleasantly surprised. These calculations were do-able even thirty or forty years ago. That was a direct claim that, 30 to 40 years ago, calculations could be done that allowed someone to "really know" what a tidal barrage would do to tidal amplitudes. I certainly understand "really knowing" what a barrage would do to the amplitudes as being synonymous with being able to generate "quite precise" estimates. How else could my words be interpreted? Are we now to understand that you are withdrawing your original claim? Or do you propose to offer some way of splitting hairs so as to contort your meaning into something that you are willing to stand by? Trevor Kenchington -- Trevor J.
