The third edition of the Explanatory Supplement to the Astronomical Almanac has just been published. Although an edition with a 2006 copyright has long been available, it's actually just the 1992 Explanatory Supplement in paperback. This new edition is a completely updated book. It should be the authoritative guide to computing astronomical data for the past or future. In the table of contents I do not see the "Historical Information" chapter of the 1992 edition, which describes the British and American almanacs back to Maskelyne's of 1767. I hope the information is still there. http://www.uscibooks.com/urban.htm
