Here is a sample of ten observations using the preset method. By presetting I am on an exact moa of the micrometer drum so the measurement precision will be about 0.2' moa . When I don't preset then I am doing a visual interpolation which is at best within 0.5' moa. For the data (Hs) is the actual altitude reading taken from the octant micrometer drum.
I.C. = +6.0' moa (add to each Hs value)
H.E. = 8.5 ft.
