    Hello to all,

    Where were you ?

    Looking into my cristal ball,

    I am getting on Sep 20th, 2003 : UT = 18h35m27.9s with N41°52.5 / W087°30.0' , i.e. very close to the Chicago shore on Lake Michigan.

Error bars can be obtained through using :

    Moon UL = -24°51' / Sun LL = +47°11'    yielding N41°59.1' / W087°34.7'

    Moon UL = -24°51' / Sun LL = +47°21'    yielding N41°49.3' / W087°37.8'

    Moon UL = -24°41' / Sun LL = +47°11'    yielding N41°55.7' / W087°22.0'

    Moon UL = -24°41' / Sun LL = +47°21'    yielding N41°46.0' / W087°25.2'

    You were very likely inside this figure :    N41°59.1' / W087°34.7'                        N41°55.7' / W087°22.0'

                                                                    N41°49.3' / W087°37.8'                         N41°46.0' / W087°25.2'

Therefore, possibly shooting from the Eastern End of the Chicago Navy Pier, with special precautions as regards Moon and Sun Azimuts.

Since actual Azimuts 283.5° for the Moon and 199.5° for the Sun were likely blocked by City/Land, you :

: either probably had to shot both of them "over the shoulder" i.e. with heights in excess of 90° : about 155° for Lady Moon in Azimut 103.5° and about 133° in Azimut 019.5° for the Sun which were clear of obstacles for such both back shots Azimuts.

: or - because "over the shoulder" observations can become very difficult ... you rather and preferably observed them almost at sea level, which cannot be ruled out since you are specifically mentioning HoE = 0 ...

Close to Navy Pier East End then ???

    Kermit
