There are significant and serious errors in Mr. Frank Reed's statement.

Mr. Frank Reed states:

"....***I then emailed him and told him that his posting privileges were suspended for seven days. *****(my emphasis - Douglas Denny) NOTE: these were ONLY his posting privileges from the NavList message boards. His email access was never affected. He is fibbing if he has said that he received no notice of this..."

also:-

".....NOW, why didn't I "inform NavList" of this seven-day vacation for Mr. Denny? First, because it was quite temporary...."

I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY NOTIFICATIONS, E-MAILS, WARNINGS EXPLANATIONS OR ANY COMMUNICATIONS WHATEVER FROM Mr. FRANK REED ABOUT MY POSTINGS SINCE THE POSTINGS FROM ME WERE BLOCKED.

I am NOT fibbing. To suggest I am fibbing is an outrageous diversion of the truth. I am forced to ask - just _who_ is fibbing here?

Further:- my postings have been blocked for more than seven days as I tried to send one to Antoine in reply - but this was blocked too. No warnings or explanations given.

Further:- Mr Frank Reed confounds his own statement: "I note that neither you nor Denny emailed me off-list to inquire." ...when he admits I did contact him by sending him two further postings when blocked - he obviously saw them, yet he did not reply to me or post them on this forum or give any correspondence to me about them off-list.

There has been no explanation given, nor warnings given, nor any attempt by him to contact me over this sudden, imperious decision to block my postings. It smacks to me of a temper tantrum and over-zealous use of the privilege of being master of the universe - this 'Navlist' universe which he "owns". It seemed to me he was taking his bat and ball away and going home in a huff.

The posting that was blocked without warning was a fairly long article regarding Lunar distances and refuting Mr. Frank Reed's assertions that 20 second absolute accuracy can be achieved with a hand-held sextant. I was quoting largely from material from the nineteenth century from writings of Captain Lecky and Raper. I thought it pretty conclusive on the matter.

If Frank Reed wished to deliberately suppress this material from Navlist members, when it is in direct contravention of his own thoughts on the matter then so be it. I think that says a lot about Mr. Frank Reed and his "moderation" of this 'Navlist'. He might like to consider the maxim: 'Power corrupts - absolute power corrupts absolutely'.

This is my only and last posting on the matter if it is published here. I will send a copy to those who's e-mails I have off-list.
