Greetings,
I have been using google for some time now for email and joined a few
groups. I also have a blog setup and like how it works.
So when an alternative to irbs was offered, I signed up without hesitation
For group oriented mail the benefits are manifest as I never cared for having my inbox cluttered with mail that I could read on a web based mail list. Google email is great for this as I just setup an email to receive group based postings then setup a filter to delete upon receipt.
The point being that I can still post to the group without having to archive the postings as that is already done in googlegroups.
I really dont see the point of hammering the navlist creator with questions about the irbs list. If you want to subscribe and post there noone is interfering with that option. At least on navlist though; there is someone trying to make a group/list who is accessible and trying to make it easy to ask questions about celestial navigation.
