Just rented the movie "Adrift" staring Kate Jackson. In the movie she and her husband are on a really nice ( really really nice ) sail boat. The is using what looked like to me to be about a $2,000 Tamyra sextant. She had a lanyard, but was not using it. When she took her Sun shot whe set the sextant down to write on something and "get this", she set it face down so the feet were pointing up into the air! The weight of the sextant was then resting on the scale, shades, scope, etc. Wonder if anyone else has noticed stuff like this in movies. I have also noticed it happens with radio too. They are trying to contact someone on a "Ham" radio and the operator is constantly changing the frequency by messing with the dial or not pushing in the mike button or holding the mike button in while a recieving a transmission which he could not possibily hear with his mike on. -- Gordon ,,, (. .) +-----------------------ooO-(_)-Ooo----------------------+ | Gordon Talge WB6YKK e-mail: gtalge@pe.net | | Department of Mathematics QTH: Loma Linda, CA | | Aquinas High School Lat.
