Frank Reed asked- There are two journals of Navigation, one American and one British with nearly identical names. Where can we purchase the historical runs of these on CD? Are both available? Could someone please post direct links to the ordering information? Thanks. The US journal is called simply "Navigation", of the Institute of Navigation, with a home page at- http://www.ion.org/ The ordering information for publications is at- http://www.ion.org/shopping/begin.cfm Near the foot of that page is the reference to the CD with over 270 papers relevant to celestial navigation, carefully selected by David Burch. This is NOT the "complete historical run" that Frank requests, but comprises all papers that are likely to interest Navlist members. The cost is $50, but on top of that is a rather extortionate "shipping cost". The list of contents will be found at- http://www.ion.org/publications/toc/celnavTOC.pdf . ==================== The British journal is "The Journal of Navigation", of the Royal Institute of Navigation. Their website is at- http://www.rin.org.uk/ They have produced a single DVD, or pair of CDs, containing the complete contents of the Journal, not just a selection, from its inception in 1948 to 2005. I can't find any information about it on their website, but presume that it's still available. When my wife bought it for my birthday a few years ago, it was about 70. You can contact them via Tel: +44 (0)20 7591 3130 Fax: +44 (0)20 7591 3131 Email: info@rin.org.uk You will find that they are helpful, and speak English...
