    Navigation instruments exhibit

Sorry to be a bit tardy in responding to George Huxtable's post of September 17 but I have been away on vacation:

Yes, The Mariners' Museum, Newport News, Virginia, has mounted an exhibit of 115 instruments of navigation from their collection in connection with the Scientific Instrument Symposium during the week of September 29. For details on the exhibit go to http://www.mariner.org/calendar.html#exhib Yes, the exhibit is scheduled to open to the public starting Saturday, September 27 but the opening may be delayed until Monday, September 29 because the Museum has been closed until the end of this week due to an electrical power outage caused by the recent hurricane.

    Smooth sailing.

    Peter Ifland
