Navigation News on inertial / stellar navigation.
    From: George Huxtable
    Date: 2005 Oct 9, 12:00 +0100

"Navigation News" is the chatty journal of the Royal Institute of
Navigation, which appears in alternate months. Don't confuse it with their
more formal and academic "The Journal of Navigation", which appears three
    times a year.

The following item, from the September / October issue of 2005, may be of
    some interest.

"Northrop Grumman has been selected by the US Air Force to provide 30
high-accuracy LN-120G stellar navigation systems for the RC-135 family of
recannaissance aircraft., The Northrop Grumman LN- 120G is a GPS augmented
stellar navigation system that tracks stars during the day and night. Once
the LN- 120G locates a star, it refines the positioning information
provided by the inertial-navigation systems of the aircraft. Repeating this
process enables the LN- 120G to provide heading information accurate to 20
arc seconds- the highest accuracy available in the world."

    George.
