Gary I'm one of those lurkers in this forum who never had a possibility to hold a sextant in his hands. My practical experiences are therefore equal to nil. I did admire the simplicity of the Bris sextant which was discussed some time ago in this forum. I'm just wondering if it would be possible to design something like a "Bris 2" by using this technique? As I mentioned before, I could imagine that your comments made here, possibly also the photos and the relevant pages from H.O. 216 might all be of interest to the authors of the paper. Why not sending it via the journal (or the newspaper) to their attention?
