Someone asked me off-list if there was a "place" where we could upload files. Yep, there is! It's seamlessly integrated with posting messages at fer3.com/arc. I may not have been clear on this previously. If you go to www.fer3.com/arc, you can compose and post a message of any size. You can upload any file you like and describe it in your message. Using this facility, files which are larger than half a megabyte (subject to change) will be pre-selected to be "linked" rather than "attached". Files that are attached are sent to every member who is subscribed to receive messages as emails (about half of all members) whether they want that file in their inbox or not. By contrast, linked files will automatically include a permanent URL to the uploaded file. Then individual NavList members can download the file if it interests them. Feel free to upload any navigation files that you wish to using this function. You should make some effort to avoid violating copyright. There is plenty of room available. Since these uploaded files are directly associated with a NavList message, they are effectively self-documenting. -FER PS: Another bit of "arc" management: It's not necessary to know this, but you can reference any post from the past 2.5 years using it's message number added to 100000 and inserted in a URL like this: http://www.fer3.com/arc/m2.aspx?i=107000. That would take you to message number 7000. You can also reference earlier messages, e.g. http://www.fer3.com/arc/m2.aspx?i=012506 --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Navigation List archive: www.fer3.com/arc To post, email NavList@fer3.com To , email NavList-@fer3.com -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
