I think that it helped me in Navigation, I did things,
that required ability to hand coordinate with eyes to
make special charts and developed Navigation Techniques
that used eye, shapes and drawing that enable hand
and pencil interpolation to get a fix by looking at
say a radar scope and placing a fix by the radar rings and a
chart, see my "special radar" or Franklin Continues Radar in
Radar Manual 1310. My Franklin Piloting techique is also graphics.
I have been teaching ART for over 20 years at Newport.
The 2 minute Star Finder is also having the knowlege to put
graphics together to make a workable model.
