You know, Mike Pepperday has a nice little logarithmic method called Celestial Navigation with the S Table. Like Ageton he shows you the divided triangle (NASR doesn't; that's my big beef with it) and the formulas he uses. His triangle is divided like Dreisenstock's - perpendicular from the observer to the declination meridian. To understand the work forms for any of these methods, it's a big help to know that to multiply you add logarithms. The S Tables are nine pages. Pepperday's explication is a great deal more discursive than the NASR or Ageton or Dreisenstock. $9.95 from Celestaire.
