    I've been thinking this over for a while. We need a name for one degree of distance on the globe measured along a great circle. At least for teaching purposes, I think it would be useful. Just as the nautical mile represents one minute of arc, there ought to be some name, the nautical something, for one degree of arc. Any suggestions?
