Hi Robert,
Short of restoring mine, just to make it operational, the what I might need is a set of the brasss or bronze washers for the both the horizon shade and index shade assemblies. I thought I was only missing on of the thcik washers from the horizon shade assembly, but even with what appears to be all of the washers for the index shade, there is no friction on the number "1" shade, it just flops around. Could it be an assembly error? I don't think so, but I am not sure.
