Hello Edward
While I do not have a copy of your requested book, I do have something that may be of interest to you. I have an exact make and model sextant that Worsely used on that expedition.
The heath sextant that travels with the Caird is missing a piece. There's a spot for it, but the scope that goes there is missing. The sextant I hold is not missing that piece.
If you would like some more info, just write back with your requests. Within reason, I'll be glad to accommodate you
Brad
I am writing a dissertation on Shackleton's instruments with a particular focus on the Heath & Co sextant used in the Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition. I am therefore interested in reading the company's publication, "My Modern Sextant". Unfortunately the National Maritime Museum seem no longer to hold a copy so I was wondering if anyone knows of anywhere were I could view a copy.
Many thanks,
Edward Martin
